Myanmar’s Premier Event for Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship

GUSTO Innovation Awards and Forum 2019 was Myanmar’s first and only event dedicated to advancing innovation and entrepreneurship, bringing together industry leaders, professionals, and national figures in support of the country’s emerging innovators.

Organized by GUSTO University in collaboration with the Myanmar Computer Professionals Association, the event aimed to cultivate a culture of creativity and innovation among young talents and entrepreneurs. It was held on Saturday, June 8, 2019, from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Myanmar Ballroom, Sule Shangri-La Hotel, Yangon.

In an era of rapid globalization and technological transformation, businesses in Myanmar must compete not only locally but also on a global scale. Recognizing this imperative, GUSTO University and the Myanmar Computer Professionals Association established this platform to empower Myanmar’s future leaders with the knowledge, skills, and inspiration needed to drive innovation-driven success.

  • GUSTO students presented their original technological inventions, demonstrating their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Distinguished speakers from diverse industries shared insights on how innovation fuels success in today’s business landscape:


    • Prof. Dr. Aung Tun Thet, Economic Advisor to the President of Myanmar and member of the National Economic and Social Advisory Council, delivered a keynote speech on “Innovation and Entrepreneurship.”

    • U Thaung Su Nyein, CEO of 7Days News Media & Information Matrix, discussed “2020: Innovate or Die.”

    • Dr. Zaw Naing, CEO & Managing Director of Mandalay Technology, presented on “Managerial and Leadership Qualities, Competencies, and Skills for 21st-Century Leaders of Innovative Organizations.”
